Boone County Council on Aging was established in 1973 as a grassroots organization by group of citizens who felt it was important to identify and address the unmet needs of the county’s older adults.

The mission of Boone County Council on Aging is to provide a continuum of services that improve the lives of people 55 and older. These services include:

• Information and Referral - Do you have a question about aging or senior services? We will provide you specific, tailored information.
  

• Volunteer Services - Community volunteers provide a little extra support for low-income seniors. Services include: Friendly Visiting, Grocery Shopping, Food Pantry Delivery, Home Repairs, Lawn Mowing, Leaf Raking and Snow Shoveling Services. We also provide all seniors meaningful ways to volunteer in the community through the RSVP. RSVP gives seniors a change to use their lifetime of skills or learn new things.

• Case Management - Services are coordinated with other organizations and maintain ongoing, long-term contact with low-income clients who need in-depth help and lack family support.

Our cost-effective service delivery model partners professionally trained staff with hundreds of dedicated, caring community volunteers to deliver personalized and flexible assistance to low income seniors.
